Financial Controller – Loughborough – £60,000 – £70,000

We’re working with a fast-growing organisation to appoint a Financial Controller. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially-minded finance professional to step into a broad, business-facing role in a private equity-backed group with a strong performance track record and ambitious growth plans.

The Role

This is not a siloed reporting role. As Financial Controller, you’ll be responsible for leading a small finance team, ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting, and a smooth month-end process. You’ll also oversee transactional finance and contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.

You’ll work closely with operational leaders to provide clear financial insight, help shape decisions, and drive performance. This includes translating financial data into actionable commentary and supporting teams in understanding their numbers and accountabilities.

About You

We’re looking for a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with at least 2 years’ post-qualification experience. A background in practice—whether Big Four or mid-tier—is essential, and you’ll likely have made the move into industry or be looking to do so.

You should bring:

• Strong technical understanding and attention to detail
• Experience managing or mentoring junior team members
• Proven ability to communicate with and influence non-finance stakeholders
• An interest in how finance contributes to broader business outcomes
• A proactive mindset and appetite to improve processes and add value
