Tax Accountant

An accountancy firm, within reach of Belper, Ripley, Derby, Matlock and Ashbourne are seeking to hire a Tax Accountant, for a position focused on Personal / Private Client Tax, but one which can either be mostly tax based, or more of a blend between accounts and tax role.

This role can be crafted to suit the best applicant’s preferences and available on either full-time or part-time hours and with generous hybrid working arrangements, with significant home working on offer per week for full-time staff and the same proportion if you are part-time.

The job offers hybrid working, which can be offered with up to 3-4 days working from home per week, with 1-2 days office-based. Working hours are hours are normal Monday to Thursday, with the firm finishing at lunch time on Fridays.

The firm are open to either full-time or part-time hours, dependent on the person’s preference who is hired. 

The work will include:

• Preparation of Self Assessment Tax Returns for a range of clients, including sole traders, partnerships and company directors, and submission to HMRC.
• Corporation tax computations and submission of corporation tax returns to HMRC.
• Capital gains tax calculations and submission of relevant forms to HMRC.
• Advising clients on a range of personal and business tax matters.
• Potentially preparing Trust Tax Returns, dealing with IHT etc.
• Accounts preparation for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, including supporting business tax computations.
• Potential involvement in bookkeeping using mainly Xero for a range of clients, including preparation of VAT returns.

To be considered, you must have relevant experience gained from working in an accountancy practice, with those from Senior all the way through to Manager level being considered.
