Senior Accountant AND Semi-Senior Accountant

A long standing accountancy practice is looking to recruit both a Senior Accountant and Semi-Senior Accountant to join its team based in Derby. Working with a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses, the firm offers a broad range of accounting and taxation services and prides itself on providing proactive, personal support to its clients.

The firm can offer excellent opportunities for both experienced Semi-Senior Accountants looking to progress and qualified Senior Accountants looking for a new challenge, with a supportive working environment, varied client work and ongoing development.

Main Responsibilities

Responsibilities will be dependent on the level of the successful candidate but may include:

• Preparing and finalising statutory accounts and tax returns
• Preparing accounts for owner-managed businesses
• Bookkeeping using cloud-based accounting software
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns
• Dealing with client queries and providing practical accounting support
• Managing client work and supporting Client Managers where appropriate
• Reviewing work and mentoring junior team members at Senior Accountant level
• Supporting clients with day-to-day accounting requirements, business growth and tax planning
• Getting involved with Making Tax Digital bookkeeping and reporting
