Junior Accountant

A excellent quality firm with a strong reputation as an employer are seeking to hire a Trainee Accountant to join their team. The firm are medium sized but have many large and complex clients and feel more like a larger independent in terms of their offices, professionalism and the quality of work on offer.

They are based out of modern offices commutable from all areas of Derby, Ilkeston, Long Eaton, and Burton-on-Trent.

Key Responsibilities:

• Taxation and Statutory Accounts for Limited Companies
• There is no one tax specialist in the firm so you may deal with related tax issues for clients. This can include corporate and personal returns, capital gains, inheritance, P11D’s, CT61’s etc.
• Potential involvement in audits from initial planning stage through to partner review – This will probably be a small part of the role and may not necessarily be involved as the firm have a limited number of audit clients.
• Management Accounts preparation and VAT returns for clients.
• Preparation of financial statements and management accounts
• Liaising with clients to ensure that information is received in sufficient time to prepare accounts
