Financial Controller

An established and growing manufacturing and distribution business is seeking a Financial Controller ready to take ownership of a full finance function and play a central role in driving business performance and growth. This is a hands-on, number one role in finance, offering both strategic input and day-to-day involvement in a fast-moving, product-led environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager, Financial Controller, or aspiring Head of Finance to join a thriving UK business that has experienced steady organic growth and is now aiming to accelerate from 10% to 25% annual growth. The company has invested heavily in UK manufacturing, reshoring production from overseas, and continues to expand its product range.

Working closely with a forward-thinking management team, you will provide commercial insight, drive financial performance, and influence key strategic decisions as the business continues to scale.

• Lead and develop the finance function as the number one in finance, reporting directly to the Managing Director.

• Bring a strong commercial perspective to financial reporting, supporting better decision-making across the business.

• Partner with operations, sales and supply chain teams to enhance margins and support growth initiatives.

• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning.

• Stay hands-on with day-to-day finance operations, ensuring accuracy and continuous improvement.

• Support the company’s growth objective of achieving 25% year-on-year expansion through effective commercial control and financial leadership.

• Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or Head of Finance within a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) or product-based environment.

• Experience in selling into retail, hardware or related consumer markets, with an understanding of offers, deals and value within the supply chain.

• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to add value through financial insight.

• Hands-on and proactive, with the confidence to influence at board level while remaining involved in day-to-day activity.

• Prepared to work five days a week on-site.

• Qualifications are less important than experience, capability and attitude.
