Finance Manager

Location: South Derbyshire
Salary: £45,000 to £55,000
Contract: Permanent, Full-time

Blusource Recruitment is working exclusively with a growing, privately owned group of businesses to recruit an experienced Finance Manager.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take greater ownership of a finance function, develop an existing team and play a key role in improving financial processes and reporting.

With significant growth over recent years and further expansion planned, the business is looking for someone who can bring fresh ideas, challenge existing processes and help establish a more structured and efficient finance operation.

Importantly, this role offers a genuine longer-term succession opportunity, with the successful candidate gradually taking over the responsibilities of the current senior finance lead.

Working closely with senior management, you will initially spend time understanding the business and its existing processes before taking increasing responsibility for the finance function.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing, supporting and developing an existing finance team of four.

• Overseeing financial operations across multiple business entities.

• Implementing and improving month-end procedures and management reporting.

• Reviewing accounting systems, processes and controls to identify efficiencies.

• Producing financial information to support business decisions.

• Working closely with operational managers to understand business performance.

• Taking increasing ownership of the finance function as part of a planned succession.

We’re looking for a confident, proactive finance professional who enjoys being hands-on while having the ability to lead a team and drive improvements.

Ideally, you will have:

• Previous experience managing and developing a small finance team.

• Strong management accounting and month-end reporting experience.

• Experience improving financial processes and procedures.

• Confidence communicating with senior stakeholders and challenging existing ways of working.

• Experience working across multiple entities would be advantageous.

Experience with Sage 50, Paperless or similar accounting systems would be beneficial.

Qualifications are flexible, with fully qualified, AAT qualified and qualified by experience candidates all considered. Practical experience and leadership ability are the priorities.

• Salary of £45,000 to £55,000 depending on experience.
