Finance Director

Finance Director – East Midlands (Hybrid) – £100,000 – £120,000 Bonus

We are partnering with a fast-growing group of UK businesses to appoint a dynamic Finance Director, ready to lead through an ambitious period of growth, investment and acquisition. With plans to double or even triple in size over the next 5 to 10 years, this is a rare opportunity to play a lead role in an exciting scale-up journey, backed by significant shareholder support.

Reporting directly to the Global CFO, and working closely with UK Managing Directors, you will be instrumental in driving financial performance, integrating acquisitions, and standardising finance operations across the UK. This is a pivotal hire, offering both strategic influence and operational control at a group level.

About the Business

This privately owned group already boasts a strong UK footprint, with a concentration of operations in the East Midlands. The business is now entering a transformative phase, fuelled by fresh capital and a clear mandate for expansion. M&A activity is central to their strategy, and this role will be key in helping to identify, assess, and integrate acquisitions while building scalable financial systems and teams.

About the Role

You’ll take ownership of UK financial leadership, overseeing finance teams across multiple business units. Your remit will balance hands-on financial management with high-level strategic planning, and you’ll work at the heart of growth initiatives from day one. This will include direct involvement in M&A projects, from due diligence through to post-acquisition integration and performance tracking.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Growth & M&A: Lead financial assessment and integration of acquisitions, ensuring new entities are embedded seamlessly.

  • Strategic Finance: Shape the financial roadmap to support the group’s expansion goals, working alongside the Global CFO.

  • Team Leadership: Inspire and develop finance leaders across the group. Strong people management is essential – you’ll lead by example, build capability, and instil a collaborative, high-performance culture.

  • Process & Systems Improvement: Standardise and enhance finance systems, processes and reporting to support growth.

  • Business Partnering: Provide commercial insight to UK Managing Directors and support key decisions around investment and profitability.

About You

We’re seeking a commercially minded Finance Director (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong team leadership credentials, who can unify and develop teams through change. You should bring experience from both large, structured businesses and more entrepreneurial or SME environments, combining technical excellence with agility and a practical mindset.

This is not a corporate ivory tower role – you’ll need to roll up your sleeves, influence across levels, and lead with a down-to-earth, approachable style. Confidence in your ability to support change, drive integration, and partner across departments will be critical to success.

Requirements:
  • Fully qualified (ACCA, ACA or CIMA).

  • Proven track record in multi-entity or group structures.

  • Experience across large corporates and SME/owner-led environments.

  • Strong team management skills, with a track record of developing high-performing finance teams.

  • M&A exposure, ideally from both sides of the transaction.

  • ERP implementation experience would be a plus.

What’s in it for You?

This is more than just a Finance Director role. It’s a chance to join a business at the start of a compelling growth phase and help shape its future. You’ll gain exposure to board-level strategy, influence key investment decisions, and enjoy the autonomy to build a finance function fit for scale.

The package includes a competitive base salary of £100,000 – £120,000, a performance-related bonus, and a senior leadership benefits package. If you’re looking for a hands-on leadership role with long-term potential and real commercial influence, this could be the move that defines your career.
