Responsibilities:

As an Audit Assistant Manager, you will play a critical role in leading and managing audit engagements, ensuring the delivery of exceptional service to our diverse portfolio of clients. Your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Audit Management: Lead and supervise audit engagements from planning to completion, ensuring compliance with auditing standards, regulations, and internal policies. Develop and execute effective audit strategies and programs, assigning tasks to team members, and monitoring progress to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.
  2. Financial Analysis and Reporting: Conduct comprehensive financial analysis and examination of client records to identify risks, control weaknesses, and areas for improvement. Prepare detailed audit reports, summarizing findings, and providing valuable recommendations to clients to enhance their financial processes and internal controls.
  3. Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships by serving as a trusted advisor. Understand client objectives and challenges, proactively addressing their needs, and providing relevant insights and guidance. Effectively communicate audit findings, respond to queries, and provide ongoing support to build long-term partnerships.
  4. Team Leadership and Development: Supervise and mentor a team of auditors, providing guidance, support, and feedback throughout the audit process. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture, encouraging professional growth and development. Conduct performance evaluations, identify training needs, and provide coaching to team members.
  5. Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to established audit methodologies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. Review audit workpapers, financial statements, and other relevant documentation to maintain accuracy, consistency, and compliance with professional standards.
  6. Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance audit procedures, methodologies, and tools to optimize efficiency, effectiveness, and quality. Identify opportunities for automation, innovation, and best practices implementation to drive process improvements.

 

Required Skills:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified or nearing qualification.
  • Extensive experience in audit engagements within a reputable accountancy practice or audit firm.
  • Strong knowledge of auditing standards, financial reporting frameworks, and relevant regulations (e.g., UK GAAP, IFRS).
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to critically evaluate complex financial information.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality deliverables.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Strong leadership capabilities, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve shared goals.
  • Proficiency in relevant accounting software, data analytics tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
