Accountant

Audit and Accounts Semi-senior/Senior Hythe area Salary: £24,000 to £30,000 – negotiable DOE. Hours: 28 hours per week, 4 days per week. This is a rare opportunity to join a growing practice based in Hythe, near Southampton, that offers a four day work week for full-time pay. About our client: The firm has a well-established presence in the Channel Islands and has established a practice on the UK mainland and is looking to grow their Audit and Accounts team. The Role: This team works with clients of varying sizes across the region in meeting their statutory accounts and audit requirements. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of accounting principles and procedures, as well as experience with audit and general practice work. The role will involve:

• Performing audits of Guernsey companies under UK GAAP legislation.

• Preparing VAT returns

• Producing accounts

• Completing Self Assessment returns

• Other general practice work

The Person: The successful candidate will have previous experience of working within an accountancy practice; they will have broad training in accounts preparation and experience in performing audits. The successful candidate will be AAT qualified, with ambition to study further, or ACCA/ACA qualified/part-qualified – study support can be provided.
