Are you looking to develop your career in HR with a CIPD Qualification?

Are you looking for opportunities within Human Resources? The majority of, if not all, employers recognise and value the CIPD (The Chartered Institution of Personnel Development) qualification. This is an independent organisation that aims to provide quality training to improve working life and allows you to qualify at different levels.

CIPD have created three levels which cater to people that are at different points within their career. It is worth understanding at each level, there are  three sub-levels which are Diplomas, Certificates and Awards. Diplomas cover a wide range of topics, Certificates cover only the crucial topics, and Awards cover one module from the Diploma.

CIPD Level 3

This is the foundation level which provides a solid basis in HR and L&D (Learning and Development) for individuals with little or no HR experience looking for an entry level position. This is almost equivalent to an A-Level. Also, if you qualify with a Certificate or Diploma, you will become an Associate Member of the CIPD which allows you to add Assoc. CIPD after your name!  Depending on the qualification you want to complete (Award, Certificate or Diploma), full or part-time, it will take between 6 to 9 months to complete it and this can be done via training centres or online.

CIPD Level 5

This level equates to an undergraduate level of study and if you qualify with a certificate or Diploma, this also allows you to be able to add Assoc. CIPD after your name and you will be an Associate Member of the CIPD.  This level is ideal for individuals with some HR experience who are looking to progress to managerial positions. Those who have done HR at degree level but have no previous experience can also apply. Level 5 will take approx. 8 to 12 months to complete and is also accessible through training centres and online materials.

Level 7

This is the advanced level and equivalent to a postgraduate qualification. Only this Level and Diploma qualification will allow you to have the CIPD Chartered Member (MCIPD) or Chartered Fellow (FCIPD) status. Level 7 is for individuals who have experience within HR and want to progress to more senior positions. This can also be advantageous for those who work independently or do consultancy work. This qualification can help refine your specialist knowledge and strategic abilities and lasts around 2 years but varies depending on how and where you choose to study.

These are valuable qualifications that can improve career opportunities, progression and salary within HR.  If this is something you are looking to complete or want to know more information, you can access it via this website: https://www.cipd.co.uk/
