A forward-thinking and innovative accountancy practice is looking to hire an Audit and Accounts Semi Senior for a job in their modern offices based between Nottingham and Grantham.

This need has come about due to the growth of the business over the past 12 months. You will work in a department where you will assist on audits, most of which are office based so travel is limited, be involved in associated accountancy work and you will get the chance to assist the specialist tax team from time to time on sophisticated VAT, personal and corporate matters.

The firm is registered to train AAT and ICAEW (ACA), so if you are an active studier or wish to complete qualifications, this is an ideal firm with which to train and develop. The role has great development potential for you to progress, improve your level and role and aim towards a more senior position. In terms of location, the firm is based between Nottingham and Grantham and is easily accessible by train. They also have parking for anyone travelling by car. You will be working in modern, newly refurbished, offices.

You will not need to travel much, if at all, as most work is done from the office. Even on client audits, they are set up with modern working practices and exchange confidential documents with clients via document exchange etc. IT systems used currently include Quickbooks, IRIS and other specialist accountancy and taxation systems where required.

This role could be taken up by anyone between Trainee through to experienced Semi Senior level. The firm is relatively open on the level of experience and they can offer full study support for AAT or ACA. If you have audit experience, that would be helpful, but people with solid accountancy practice knowledge which is accounts based can be taught the audit work and given a great opportunity to increase their skills profile, including exposure to taxation work.

* Working on audit assignments
