Blusource has successfully co-hosted ‘An evening with Derek Redmond’ event at Harts restaurant in Nottingham.
Derek Redmond is an ex-Olympian who is best known from the Barcelona games in 1992 when he suffered a hamstring injury during the 400m semi-final but refused to give up. His father burst through security onto the track to help him limp to the finish line. It is a moment which has become iconic, voted the 3rd most memorable moment in Olympic history and was also famously referenced by Barak Obama.
Following many injuries, Derek had to give up athletics but went on to become a basketball champion and is now a motivational speaker among many other things.
The event was organised by EMNG (East Midlands Network Group) – a networking group aimed at senior professionals across the East Midlands which was a complete success.
